In October, the church doors were refinished and replaced, and the soot and efflorescence of sixty years was power steam-washed from the building’s walls. The original Immaculate Conception shrine was demolished to make room for a brand-new grotto to house the stunningly beautiful image of Our Lady. Restoration of the images from the Book of Revelation on the pillars’ capitals was done as well as the restoration and repainting of the stained glass window frames.
